About the Role

As a Community & Campus Development Intern, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the daily experience of our members from their first visit to their continued engagement as part of our growing ecosystem. You’ll support the Hub team in both community engagement and sales-related processes, helping organisations navigate their membership journey and making sure every encounter at the Hub reflects our welcoming and collaborative spirit.
You’ll work closely with the Campus and Programming teams to strengthen the use of our campus as a hub for collaboration, and to connect people, ideas, and opportunities within the peace and justice ecosystem of The Hague.
As a Junior Project Officer, you will support the team in delivering a high-quality community experience and strengthening engagement across the Hub.

Your General Responsibilities

  • Member Engagement & Experience
    • Welcoming members and visitors and facilitating introductions
    • Connecting individuals to relevant people, opportunities, and spaces within the Hub
    • Supporting a warm, inclusive, and engaging campus atmosphere
  • Membership Journey Support
    • Assisting with onboarding new members
    • Collecting feedback and contributing to service improvements
    • Supporting how membership offerings are presented and delivered
  • Event Coordination & Hosting
    • Co-organising and hosting community events such as Community Drinks and other community events
    • Supporting ad hoc collaborations and member-led activities
  • External Engagement & Representation
    • Facilitating tours and visits for external guests and delegations
    • Representing the Humanity Hub and its community
  • Sales, Outreach & Ecosystem Development
    • Supporting outreach to prospective members and partners
    • Assisting with market research and identifying collaboration opportunities
    • Contributing to membership development and follow-up processes

What you bring

  • A genuine interest in the Humanity Hub’s community of changemakers towards a more peaceful and just world.
  • Affinity and some experience with project management and event organisation.
  • A curious, friendly personality with the ability to stay calm, responsive and solution oriented.
  • You are punctual, well-organized, proactive and can multi-task.
  • A flexible, can-do attitude, ready to jump between tasks and help where needed, and suggest improvements.
  • You are fluent in English and can (ideally) communicate in Dutch. Dutch speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills, in writing and verbally.
  • You can work independently and collaborate within a team. You welcome feedback and use it to improve and learn.
  • Available for flexible working hours to support events as required.

Requirements

  • You are studying/have studied a degree in a relevant field (for example, but not limited to: International Relations, Political Sciences, Public Relations, Business Management & Development, Development Studies).
  • You are legally allowed to do an internship in the Netherlands (linked to your university or not).
  • You are living in, or near, The Hague. The Hub unfortunately cannot cover transportation costs to and from work.
  • You can work 4 days per week (32 hours)
  • You are available for the entire duration of the internship.
