From Margins to Center: Women’s Justice in Fragile Times

When justice systems are under pressure, women are often the most affected—but also key to building more resilient and inclusive solutions. This inaugural panel of Justice Matters 2026 puts women at the centre of justice reform.

About the Event
In times of crisis and conflict, women face disproportionate barriers to justice. Yet their leadership, experiences, and perspectives are essential to building fair, inclusive, and sustainable justice systems.

This inaugural panel explores how women’s voices can move from the margins to the centre of decision-making. Through expert dialogue, the session will examine how gender-responsive justice approaches can address inequality, strengthen institutions, and contribute to long-term peace and stability.

What We’ll Discuss

  • How women experience injustice in fragile and conflict-affected contexts
  • Practical examples of gender-sensitive justice responses
  • What justice systems look like when women are co-creators, not just beneficiaries
  • How investing in women’s access to justice supports lasting peace
