The World Nuclear Association has a great opportunity for an undergraduate or postgraduate with excellent strategic judgement, and high-quality communication and organisational skills to join its Communication Marketing department on a 12-month placement.

The Association is seeking an individual with an interest in world energy and the nuclear power industry to support its Communications function. In this role you will report to the External Campaigns Communications Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write engaging and persuasive content for email, web, social, newsletters, and other communications
  • Develop visual assets and infographics for LinkedIn and member communications, using creative tools such as Canva
  • Create and review external presentations to ensure they are produced to a high standard and consistent with branding and messaging guidelines
  • Support press function, monitoring in-boxes, maintaining contact lists, and response database
  • Support with editing videos – familiarity with a video editing tool such as Microsoft ClipChamp, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut would be advantageous
  • Research world energy and nuclear energy trends to help update the information library with potential to support World Nuclear News team
  • Actively propose and draft website articles and social media posts
  • Support ongoing external communication activities, including the planning and execution of events, ensuring all activities are delivered on time
  • Provide general support incuding updating website pages in the Association’s content management systems (CMS) and maintaining databases of presentations, images and videos
  • Digital native who is able to quickly pick up new platforms – you are likely to encounter Buffer for social media scheduling, Looker Studio for google analytics dashboard and Monday.com for project management as well as many others (confidence to self-teach and be be able to quickly navigate around new platforms is essential
  • Work with other World Nuclear Association departments and colleagues to ensure the effectiveness of Association’s activities in the relevant topic areas

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Currently undertaking studies, or has graduated, in a relevant subject such as Energy  Policy, Physics,  International Relations, Politics, History, Philosophy, Journalism or Creative Writing
  • Excellent English oral and written communication ability

Person Specification

  • High attention to detail with a strong ability to review and analyse data
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with a keen interest in content writing and editing
  • Strong interest in the energy sector
  • Familiarity with Canva, Website Content Management Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint would be advantageous
