As a Strategic Information Advisor within the Social Domain at the Municipality of The Hague, you’ll play a crucial role in advising on and strengthening information strategies for the Education, Culture and Welfare (OCW) department and in conjunction with Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) projects. You’ll help set the course by providing strategic advice on information management, digitalization, and process improvement. Together with a dedicated team of Information Advisors and other specialists, you’ll work on innovative solutions to complex issues that contribute to better service delivery for the residents of The Hague.
What are you going to do?
As a Strategic Information Advisor within the Social Domain, you’ll play a central role in developing and implementing information strategies that contribute to social goals and strengthen municipal services. Working in multidisciplinary teams with the Board of Directors, the Portfolio Manager, and other Information Advisors, you’ll optimize various programs and guide digitalization initiatives. You’ll be the driving force behind a sustainable digitalization agenda for the Social Domain, mentor fellow advisors, and contribute to municipality-wide IT optimization together with your fellow Strategic Information Advisors. As a trusted advisor, you’ll also drive strategic IT consultations and contribute to the renewal of the IT landscape within the Social Domain Management Team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Developing the i-strategy: You will implement an information strategy for the Social Domain, aligned with the municipal i-vision, the i-vision of SZW, municipality-wide programs such as CRM, and the G4 agenda.
- Advising and strategic monitoring: You monitor strategic and digital developments within a Social Domain and align these with municipal and group-wide objectives.
- Contribute to the i-board: You guide decision-making, evaluate results, and recalibrate the information strategy in consultation with management and architecture teams.
- Supporting complex digital initiatives: For large projects, you provide strategic guidance and advice from start to finish.
- Monitor technological market developments: You identify opportunities and risks for the Social Domain based on technological and ICT developments.
- Promoting Agile and an integrated approach: You develop Agile methodologies within the team and work closely with departments such as Digital Strategy, Privacy and Security.
- Monitoring compliance with frameworks: You ensure that projects comply with municipal and national guidelines and reference architectures such as GEMMA and NORA.

- a 32- to 36-hour working week with a salary of at least €5,885 and a maximum of €7,740 gross per month (scale 13), based on a full (36-hour) working week;
- a fixed-term employment contract for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension or an employment contract for an indefinite period;
- an individual choice budget (IKB) worth 17.05% on top of your salary, which you can use as you choose, for example for extra leave, salary or repayment of student debt;

- academic working and thinking level, supported by at least a completed bachelor’s degree;
- at least five years of experience in information management and project management, with knowledge of Agile and Lean portfolio management;
- experience within a management organization and the ability to adapt structures in a dynamic environment;
- familiarity with challenges in the Social Domain and the ability to translate relevant developments into innovative solutions;
- excellent strategic, tactical and operational communication skills;
- ability to organize decision-making processes regarding policy and its impact on implementation.
- affinity, knowledge and experience with IT architecture is an advantage.
