Are you looking to develop your skills in a purpose-driven environment? Join The Hague Humanity Hub as a Communications Intern and contribute to making our work and the work of our community visible, accessible, and impactful. Working closely with the Communications & Marketing Manager, Communications Officer, the Just Peace team, and other colleagues, you’ll play a key role in storytelling, content creation, and promoting activities from across the Hub’s ecosystem. This internship is a chance to grow professionally, take ownership of your projects, and build a meaningful network in The Hague’s peace and justice community.
Start date: early September 2025 | Duration: 6 months
What you’ll learn and work on
- Support managing our social media platforms using Hootsuite
- Update and promote our online event calendar with activities from Hub programmes and members
- Curate and publish opportunities in the Talent Hub
- Create and manage our monthly newsletter
- Write copy for blogs, news updates, and social media posts
- Develop visual content for online platforms
- Support the development of communication plans for Hub programmes and events
- Collaborate across teams to ensure strong promotion of Hub activities
- Contribute to creative campaigns and marketing strategies
- Support the upkeep and development of the Hub website
- Interview members and write stories for Humans of the Hub
Your profile
- Strong motivation to build a career in communications within the non-profit sector
- Interest in digital communications and current social media trends
- Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch is a plus
- Enthusiastic about the Humanity Hub’s mission and community
- Organised, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Flexible team player with a hands-on attitude and willingness to take initiative
- Comfortable working proactively and independently and open to feedback
- Tech-savvy and eager to learn new tools
- Willing to occasionally work flexible hours to support events
What we offer
- An internship position for 6 months at the Humanity Hub
- An internship allowance of €400 per month, based on 32 hours a week
- Paid holiday allowance (depending on how many hours you work: 8 days based on 32 hours per week)
