World’s Youth for Climate Justice (WYCJ) is a global, youth-led movement of 800+ campaigners founded in 2020. WYCJ works across continents at the intersection of law and policy, focused on enhance climate ambition and accountability.
WYCJ are the team that took climate justice to the world’s highest court, and we are only getting started. It requires a global movement for integration and implementation of the ICJ Advisory Opinion on climate change across all countries and all levels. The Caribbean, who has been leader in advocating for climate justice and climate reparations, will play a crucial role in enhancing global ambition and accountability.
Campaigners in over 50 countries are working to transform international law into a tool for ambition and accountability for climate justice.
WYCJ operates at the intersection of youth movement, grassroots mobilisation, and high-level legal and policy advocacy. We are the only global youth-led network that has successfully translated grassroots climate activism into authoritative pronouncements on international law.

About the role: WYCJ is looking for someone who can translate international legal developments into political change, explore litigation pathways, and enhance climate ambition and accountability. WYCJ does this through legal empowerment, capacity-building, advocacy (national and regional), creative story-telling, and strategic legal interventions.
- You will be compensated as an independent contractor.

- This role has flexible hours and work location.
- We are receiving applications until 03 September 2026. We will hold interviews with a panel of 2-3 people to get to know each other and see if there is good fit.

Being a lawyer is not required, but a willingness to thoroughly understand international law and court rulings which determine states’ obligations relating to climate change is a pre.
