Cybersecurity for NGOs

26 May, 2025

Supporting the peace and justice community through knowledge sharing and access to expertise on the opportunities and threats posed by digital technologies.

The Hague Humanity Hub helps organisations and professionals in the peace and justice community navigate the opportunities and threats posed by digital technologies. Together with expert partners we offer knowledge sharing and access to expertise programming to strengthen the work of the community. We currently have two programmes focusing on cybersecurity and will soon announce further activities.

Cybersecurity

Cyberattacks on NGOs are increasing both in frequency and impact. Recent cyberattacks have affected both large international and grassroots local organizations. Despite being the second most targeted sector by nation-state threat actors, NGOs often don’t have the resources and capacity to properly secure themselves against such cyberattacks. In addition, while the NGO sector does not fall under EU or Dutch critical infrastructure funding priorities, it’s still providing critical services to vulnerable sections of society in the Netherlands and abroad.
To measure and address these challenges while working to build the capacity of the NGO sector in The Hague and in the Netherlands, the Humanity Hub has partnered with technical cyber expert organizations in two complementary projects:

For organisations in The Hague

cyber-secure-the-hague

For organisations in The Netherlands

cyber-resilience-for-ngos
