Through programmes and events fostering connections, knowledge sharing and collaboration, the Humanity Hub aims to increase the collective impact of The Hague community.
Your opportunity: Become a Programming Advisory Board (PAB) Member:
As a member of the Programming Advisory Board, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the development of our programmes and community development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include: (click to open)
- Offer strategic guidance: contribute insights to steer the programming and community development initiatives;
- Provide sectoral and programmatic insights: provide critical perspectives and knowledge based on your experience.
- Identify key connections and themes: help pinpoint specific themes and focus areas that will strengthen the network;
- Advise the Hub team on programme development: lend your expertise to the development, funding strategies and execution of impactful programmes;
- Propose and champion new initiatives: propose and actively support the implementation of new ideas and projects to strengthen the community;
- Foster collective engagement: help cultivate a sense of collective ownership in strengthening and connecting the community of The Hague.
Collective Expertise of the Board
In order to be able to best support the community and Hub programming, the members of the Programming Advisory Board must together possess the following expertise and backgrounds.

- Expertise and Insights
- A significant part of board has work experience and broad knowledge in the broader peace and justice world across one or more sectors listed below.
- All members are able to share cross-sectoral insights and advice on a strategic level.
- Local Impact
- One or more members are rooted in The Hague and are able to advise on increasing impact in the city by connecting the local and international community.
- Programmatic Experience and Community Building
- One or more members are experienced with some or all of the following: ideating, developing and executing complex programmes, as well as nurturing and building community.
- Funding and Partnerships
- One or more members are experienced with some or all of the following: the funding landscape, financing possibilities and different business models, and forming and building consortiums and partnerships.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking
- One or more members are innovators or entrepreneurs. They see possibilities for new developments and opportunities for impact.
- Networks
- Members operate in networks relevant to the Hub, giving them insights into areas relevant to the programming and community development, and maintain relevant contacts and form connections.
To ensure the Programming Advisory Board benefits from a diverse range of perspectives and specialized knowledge, we are seeking individuals with a strong connection to and understanding of at least one of the following key sectors and themes: (click to open)

** Refers to the sectors currently underrepresented in the Programming Advisory Board.
Individual Commitment
- Dedicate approximately 10 hours annually to attending five bi-monthly, two-hour meetings. Board membership is for an initial one-year term with the possibility of a one-year extension.
- Provide occasional insights and guidance in response to requests between meetings.
- Participate, as your interests align, in relevant Hub programming and events.
Application and Selection
We invite interested professionals to express their interest by sending an email outlining their motivation for joining the Programming Advisory Board and detailing how their experience and expertise align with our desired profiles. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

- Revision of Applications: 06th – 16th June
- Announcement of 2025-2026 Board Members: 27th June – 5th of July
The first Programming Advisory Board Meeting of the 2025-2026 cycle will take place on a Friday (15:00-17:00) in the second half of September.
