Introducing the new Programming Advisory Board

29 July, 2024

On June 21st, the Hub hosted the kickoff meeting of the Programming Advisory Board (PAB) for the 2024-2025 cycle. Welcoming five new members, this group of eleven experts will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the Humanity Hub’s activities and impact.

The Hague Humanity Hub serves as a vibrant platform for changemakers with a shared passion for a more peaceful and just world. Through programmes and events fostering connections, dialogue and knowledge sharing, our mission is to increase the collective impact of The Hague community. The expertise and insights of the Programming Advisory Board helps bolster our core capabilities and shape the development of our programmes and community development initiatives.

Members of the board

We aim to cultivate a sense of collective ownership in strengthening and connecting the ecosystem of The Hague. To this end, the board has grown to include representatives of more sectors present in the The Hague’s ecosystem. We are happy to welcome the newest additions to the group:

They are joining the following professionals who are continuing their role for another year:

  • Maaike De Loor, Coordinator of the Centre of Expertise on Global Governance, Strategic Advisor at the Centre of Expertise on Global and Inclusive Learning, The Hague University of Applied Sciences
  • Serge Santoo, Director and Senior Advisor, Polycentric Solutions
  • Jan Aart Scholte, Professor and Coordinator of the Global Transformations and Governance Challenges, Leiden University
  • Jill Wilkinson, Managing Director, The Hague Humanity Hub

We would like to thank the previous participants for their contribution: Alexander Gunkel, Tilly Stroo, Rob Schuurmans, Kirsten Meerschaert and Hans van den Berg.

Priorities for the board

Entering its second year, the board’s  focus remains to help guide the Hub’s programming to continue to deliver interesting and useful opportunities for the ecosystem to develop its activities and impact. You can find an overview of the board’s main support activities and Hub programming ambitions in the following slides:

How to Get Involved

Are you interested in supporting the board’s mission? The board is planning to take on a more active role this year in outreach activities and informal opinion gathering with the community. Do you have topics you’d like to raise or opportunities for cocreation and partnership to share? The board is always open to talk and take suggestions from Hub members – we welcome your thoughts and views by email at programming@humanityhub.net or directly with board or hub team members.

In the meantime, we are currently actively exploring opportunities for programming related to the NATO summit to be hosted in The Hague in summer 2025. Do you have some ideas and would like to contribute? We’d love to hear from you!
