Privacy Policy for Events at the Humanity Hub

This event is part of the activities (co)hosted by The Hague Humanity Hub. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the personal data of event attendees.

1. What Data We Collect and Why

When you register for an event, we collect:

  • Your name and email address (to manage event participation and send relevant future event invitations).
  • Your organization, if (to learn more about the skills and expertise available in the community of The Hague).
  • Your consent if you choose to sign up for our newsletter. (to keep you informed of activities and opportunities monthly)
  • Your dietary preferences or food allergies, limited to events where meals are provided. (to ensure food & beverage provided during the event is suitable for our attendees)

2. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with sponsors, partners, or vendors. We also do not collect payment-related personal information for paid events.

If your personal data is shared with third parties, these parties and the purpose of the data sharing must be named prior to your registration to the event.

3. Photography & Media Use

We may take photographs, videos, and recordings at our events for promotional purposes (e.g., on our website and social media). If you do not wish to appear in media, please inform the event organizers upon arrival, and you’ll be given a distinctive tag indicating your preference.

4. Data Storage & Your Rights

We store personal data on European servers in compliance with GDPR.
You have the right to:

  • Request access to your data
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for future communications

5. Data Processing

The personal data you provide in connection with the inquiry of the event (e.g. our email address, name, affiliation to organization) is used to administer your event order.

If you opt in to receive our newsletter during registration, we will add you to our mailing list. You may unsubscribe at any time.

We may send you a feedback survey after the event to improve our work. You can choose to opt out of these communications.

You may be contacted for similar or related events and opportunities we think may interest you.

6. Data Retention Period

We will save your personal data as mentioned in Section 1 for five (5) years after the end of the event. The data retention period is designed to enable The Humanity Hub to develop a better understanding of your preferences and continue offering relevant opportunities.
