NAB impact investing

The Netherlands Advisory Board on Impact Investing (NAB) is an independent, non-profit member organisation established in 2020 to accelerate the growth and effectiveness of the impact investing market in the Netherlands and beyond. As the Dutch member of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG), a global network active in more than 50 countries, the NAB connects investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions to advance finance for positive social and environmental impact.

Our mission is to help transform finance into a force for a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous world. We work to raise awareness, address barriers, and increase confidence in investing with and for impact, demonstrating that financial returns and positive societal outcomes can go hand in hand.

The NAB has three programmes: through the 10% Target programme, we encourage investors to allocate at least 10% of their assets under management to impact investing, including a 4% allocation to emerging markets by 2030. Our ecosystem-building programme strengthens infrastructure, policy frameworks, and stakeholder collaboration in emerging markets. In parallel, our public awareness campaign increases understanding of the necessity and potential of impact investing.

The Dutch NAB is recognised as a leading voice in the national and international impact investing ecosystem, catalysing collaboration and mobilising more private capital towards meaningful impact.

1. Impact investing knowledge & capacity building We support financial institutions, policymakers, and asset owners in strengthening their understanding and implementation of impact investing, including guidance on frameworks, target-setting, and impact measurement.
2. Ecosystem building & networking We convene investors, funds, policymakers, and ecosystem partners through roundtables, working groups, and events, enabling collaboration, knowledge exchange, deal-sharing, and stronger market connections.
3. Market development & capital mobilisation We support system-level initiatives that scale institutional investment into impactful solutions, including capital allocation strategies, coalitions, and mechanisms that improve capital deployment for impact.
