GET IN TOUCHThe International Development Law Organization (IDLO) is the only global intergovernmental organization exclusively devoted to promoting the rule of law to advance peace and sustainable development.
IDLO partners with governments to ensure laws and institutions are fair, effective and foster peace and sustainable development. In tandem, they work with people and communities, empowering them to claim their rights, address their justice needs and engage actively with decision-makers. This “top down and bottom up” approach allows the organization to effect change at multiple levels through legal and policy reform, strengthening institutions, digital solutions, participatory governance and legal empowerment.
Guided by its Strategic Plan 2025-2028, IDLO’s efforts focus on expanding access to justice, enhancing public integrity and anticorruption, reducing the justice gap for women and girls, strengthening environmental governance, creating enabling environments for broad-based economic growth, and reducing health inequalities.
IDLO is headquartered in Rome with branch and liaison offices in The Hague, Geneva and New York, and country offices across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East and North Africa.
