Human Rights in the Picture is a non-profit human rights organization with its legal seat in the Hague: The City of Peace and Justice. The foundation was founded on 15 May 2013 by Jan de Koning and Nadja Houben with the aim of using audio-visual art to expose human rights violations, to support those involved and to contribute to change.
They make documentaries, photo exhibitions and educational materials and develop this audio-visual art to raise awareness on human rights issues and social injustice. Human rights in the Picture also create awareness and knowledge about human rights violations, inequality and injustice by telling personal stories to illustrate often complex international relations and historical events.
Human Rights in the Picture organizes film screenings and debates to engage with diverse audiences worldwide and develop outreach campaigns to reach those who are key to change.
