Youth Speak Night

3 March @ 18:00 - 20:00

Youth Speak Night (YSN) is an interactive, dialogue-driven event organized by AIESEC Leiden/The Hague under the NOUR Project. It brings together students, professionals, and experts for an evening focused on meaningful exchange and cross-cultural understanding.

This edition of YSN centres on the theme “Connecting Cultures,” aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. The evening explores how global cooperation— particularly between the Arab and Western worlds— can be strengthened through dialogue, knowledge exchange, and youth engagement.

YSN brings together professionals, academics, and NOUR Project representatives, ensuring a balanced perspective that combines practical experience, academic insight, and on-the-ground youth engagement. Attendees can expect interactive elements, real-life perspectives, and the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers. Rather than being a one-sided lecture, YSN is designed as a space for conversation.

By the end of the evening, attendees should walk away with a deeper understanding of how equal, cross-cultural partnerships are essential for global progress, how young people can actively contribute to these collaborations, and how initiatives like the NOUR Project translate dialogue into concrete action. Ultimately, YSN is a platform where youth are not just listeners but active participants in shaping a more connected world.

The Agenda

The programme will include an opening, a keynote that bridges theory and practice, and a 45 minute moderated panel discussion with professionals. The panel includes academics who will provide broader insights into Arab-Western relations, professionals working towards intercultural understanding in The Hague, and NGO representatives who strive for intercultural connection on multiple societal levels.
