What started as a climate justice initiative by the students from the Pacific Islands, led to the United Nations General Assembly adopting the resolution seeking for the advisory opinion on climate justice, led to the International Court of Justice (ICJ); the ICJ is set to start the hearings on its first ever climate case on the 2nd of December! ✨
In this webinar, World’s Youth for Climate Justice (WYCJ)’s speakers will share their perspectives on how advisory opinions in international law, environmental rights, and youth advocacy can and will chart our path towards climate justice.
The speakers are Chithmini Bandara, Campaigner for World’s Youth for Climate Justice; Alvin Yap, Lecturer at The University of Western Australia and Specialist in Environmental Law; and Prilia Kartika A., Researcher at Indonesian Center for Environmental Law.
