The world is in transition: geopolitical power shifts, climate change, shifting global relations. That requires more than re-ening existing policies. In this session we try to break away from the existing frameworks — from the current donor-recipient relationship, from common financing models, perhaps even from the concept of “development cooperation” as we know it now.
In this session, in collaboration with the Dutch Research Institute for Transitions (DRIFT), we will jointly answer the question: what will a just, global cooperation look like in fifteen years, and what does that mean for our role in this?
That requires something different from all of us than the previous round: not only to react from our own position, theme and practice, but also to be challenged to question that practice. Exactly the kind of inconvenience it takes to really look ahead.
We invite a diverse representation of the Partos members to participate. Through an interactive working session — with both breakout sessions and plenary sections — we work towards concrete recommendations and a future vision for the sector that looks beyond the delusion of the day.
