Multi-level conflict and process design training

10 June @ 00:00 - 12 June @ 23:59

Effective conflict resolution goes beyond understanding the substance of the conflict or having strong interpersonal skills – it depends on how well each intervention is crafted. This training focuses on a vital yet often overlooked tool: strategic process design. Process shapes outcomes, and knowing how to strategically plan and implement is what sets impactful interventions apart.

Through real-world cases and simulations led by experienced practitioners Dr. Jale Sultanli and Wilbur Perlot, you will learn how to tailor each conflict resolution process to maximise chances of success. It equips you with the skills to strategically design and tailor interventions that maximise the chances of successful outcomes and avoid harm.

By joining this training, participants will:

  • Learn tools to identify the best intervention for your context
  • Learn process design skills—from scoping to implementation
  • Learn strategies for structuring multi-stakeholder dialogue, mediation, and peace processes
  • Learn insights from real-world case studies and simulations
  • Receive guidance on avoiding common design pitfalls

In a field where process shapes outcomes, this training offers a unique competitive advantage preparing to design for success, not just react to challenges.

For whom is this training?

Professionals working in the field of peace and justice, humanitarian organisations, diplomacy, security and managers, civil servants dealing with multi-level conflicts. Any other who works in multi-party interconnected negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution processes.

Examples of processes you might be working on:

-Facilitating a dialogue

-Conducting a mediation

-Implementing a project supporting conflict resolution or peace building

-Structuring a multi-stakeholder negotiation

-Reducing tensions in your society or organisation

-Implementing humanitarian interventions

-Supporting or financing these type of processes

Teaching methodology

Practice by doing is the key pillar of the training approach. Presentations of concepts and introduction of analytical tools are followed by cases and simulations in which these tools need to be applied. The participants will have opportunities to discuss their own cases and engage in peer exchange. The training is highly interactive. After the training one-on-one sessions of 90 minutes will be scheduled to work on your own process design.
