Fireside Peace Chats: Peace at Home

Overview
This event will be held in Dutch.
How can we achieve peace in our own city? What scope is there for dialogue as an instrument for peace, amid increasing tensions in Dutch society? Come to the upcoming edition of Fireside Peace Chats, where we will talk to Jakob de Jonge, chair of The Hague Peace Projects, about ‘Peace at Home’. Against the backdrop of global geopolitical instability, this evening offers an opportunity to reflect on how peace can be achieved at the local level, the balance between security and solidarity, and what vigilance means in an increasingly militarised world.
This informal conversation is intended to bring together peacebuilders, enthusiasts and citizens to connect, share experiences and exchange insights on how we can promote resilience within our local communities.
What are the Fireside Peace Chats?
The Fireside Peace Chats aim to create a space where practice, research and policy in the field of peacebuilding come together in an informal way through the experiences of people on the ground. By sharing personal stories of peacebuilders and other figures with extensive experience in conflict areas, we want to contribute to a locally informed paradigm shift in liberal peacebuilding. The Fireside Peace Chats were originally created as a joint initiative of Leiden University College (LUC), the Knowledge Platform for Security and the Rule of Law (KPSRL) and The Hague Humanity Hub (THHH).
