CER to Launch – ‘Making The Case: Observing Heritage Protection as a Humanitarian Issue’

28 September, 2023 @ 18:00 - 21:00

Join our member Cultural Emergency Response (CER) for an engaging conversation with heritage and humanitarian experts on the impact of heritage loss and the protection of people.

Central to the event is a film screening of CER’s pilot project on the safeguarding of intangible heritage from displaced communities in Georgia. Based on her experience, their project partner Tamar Sopromdze will talk about the people-centered nature of cultural heritage and how it impacts the well-being of individuals and communities. Together with panelists from the cultural and humanitarian field, they’ll discuss ways in which the sectors can work better together.

Key Questions:
– How can culture help people in crisis?
– Can we see the protection of culture as a humanitarian issue?
