Critical materials are essential to the green and digital transitions, yet growing demand, supply chain dependencies and geopolitical developments pose significant challenges. These questions are now more relevant than ever.
That is why the Materials Security Flagship at CaSS will share its latest insights in this field during the first edition of the CaSS Climate Security Talk. During this event, titled ‘Securing Critical Materials for a Safe, Secure, and Sustainable Future’, researchers, policymakers and practitioners will discuss how innovation, governance and circularity can contribute to more resilient material systems.
During the event, we will be joined by Marieke Begthel-Spijkerboer, Director of the Directorate for Circular Economy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, who will give a keynote titled ‘Securing Resources for a Sustainable Future: Policy, Research and the Circular Economy’. Furthermore, postdoctoral researcher Sina Khoshsima will present his research on securing critical materials from waste streams. The afternoon will be hosted by the Flagship’s academic lead Kevin Rossi.
