Art & Justice – Abu Zubaydah
3 December, 2024 @ 17:00 - 19:30

Tortured and detained without charges for the last twenty two and a half years, Zubaydah has been deprived of a voice at Guantanamo. On 3 December he will speak through his art.
Join us for an exhibition and discussion on 3 December in relation to Guantanamo, extraordinary rendition, and the case of torture victim and “forever prisoner” Abu Zubaydah. The event includes the exhibition of Zubaydah’s graphic but powerful art, including previously unpublished works, and a discussion on the pursuit of freedom, rule of law and the implementation of judgments in his case.
Programme:
- Walk-in and Exhibition: 17.00-17.30
- Conversation: 17.30-18.30
- Reception, Exhibition and Informal Discussion on the Path Forward: 18.30-19.30
The event is accessible by invitation. If you would like to join, please reach out to info@humanrightsinthepicture.org.
This event is organised by Human Rights in practice and Human Rights in the Picture, and is supported by Redress, the Nuhanovic Foundation, and The Hague Humanity Hub.
