Advancing Climate Justice Through Inclusive Decision-Making

18 March @ 15:00 - 17:00

Climate justice requires inclusive decision-making that represents the voices of those most affected by climate change, such as Indigenous Peoples, young people and affected communities from the Global South. However, a lack of transparency and meaningful participation in climate negotiations often leaves these groups sidelined or reduced to token representation. How can we ensure that climate policies and decisions reflect the lived experiences and expertise of those on the frontlines of the crisis?

Partos and the The Hague Humanity Hub are organising a learning session to find answers to this question. This event will bring together The Hague Climate Justice Hub and the Partos Climate Justice CoP to promote learning and collaboration between different organisations active in the climate justice space.  The session will take place in-person at the The Hague Humanity Hub and online via Zoom.

In this engaging learning session, we will hear from guest speakers who bring diverse perspectives on Climate Justice to the table, ranging from local activists to regional Climate Justice initiatives. What makes Climate Justice so crucial? What are good practices for meaningful participation? What happens when the perspectives of those at the frontlines of the crisis are central in decision making? And what role can NGOs play in advancing this cause? During the session, we will explore the work of these key actors, and following their presentations, we’ll open the floor for a discussion on best practices, challenges and concrete actions.
