PAX

PAX is the largest peace organization in the Netherlands. They work to protect civilians against acts of war, to end armed violence, and to build inclusive peace. PAX works in conflict areas worldwide, together with local partners and people who, alongside the PAX team, believe that everyone has a right to a dignified life in a peaceful society.
Many people are involved with PAX, and each contributes in their own way. From PAX’s headquarters in the Netherlands, from Brussels (EU), New York (UN) and together with our local partners in conflict areas. After 75 years, PAX is still very much needed. Worldwide, there are many people still trying to escape from repression and violence. They deserve our help.

PAX is independent of political interests and supported by a broad group of concerned citizens and civil society organisations.

PAX focuses on several areas, including:

Protection of Civilians: Shielding people from violence.
Disarmament: Working towards a world free of weapons of mass destruction and reducing the impact of conventional weapons.
Resource Justice: Addressing the role of natural resources in conflict.
Peacebuilding and Reconciliation: Supporting local partners to build stable, inclusive societies after conflict.
