Impunity Watch: Afrikadag

16 November, 2024 @ 00:00 - 23:59

Impunity Watch is excited to be at this year’s edition of Africa Day (Afrikadag) to amplify the voices of victims and survivors in fighting impunity!

For over 25 years, Africa Day has been the largest public event on international cooperation with African countries in the Netherlands – providing a space to celebrate those fighting for justice.

With Cordaid, Impunity Watch will have a conversation on the importance of victim-centred approaches in justice processes with a pressing call from victims and survivors in the DRC.
“People power building justice in Africa” (14:00-15:00) – this session will bring you their voices to answer: What does justice look like for them? How can justice be delivered amidst ongoing violence?

All-day, a photo exhibition from Burundi: “Portraits of the past and present: preserving memories through photography and storytelling”
Displayed in Europe for the first time, Rweze (a women’s collective of young photographers) and Impunity Watch invite you to discover portraits of Burundi’s past and present, evoking the power of art and storytelling for bridging generations.
