As a global humanitarian organization, Mercy Corps ventures beyond emergency aid to explore different areas of sustainable development, including youth employment, a critical and massive challenge that requires integrated approaches from a variety of stakeholders and investment from public and private sectors to shift the way we skill, employ, and empower youth in the global economy Jobtech is a key contributor to addressing this challenge.
We believe that Jobtech completes the formula between the push of labour supply, and the pull of labour demand, and presents unique scalable and sustainable solutions to how youth access income generation opportunities, and how employers seek the best candidates they need with a high rate of success and efficiency. However, Jobtech has yet to truly catalyse positive breakthrough solutions, therefore, it is essential to investigate and discuss the challenges that prevents Jobtech from reaching its full potential in the Middle East.
Using Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt and Jordan as the main case studies, speakers representing both the technology, the youth employment worlds, and coming from policy making, investors, start ups, research, private sector, programming and practitioner backgrounds will use the session to reach several outcomes.
