Are you the creative, entrepreneurial Digital Growth Marketeer ActionAid is looking for? This might be the role for you!

As a Digital Growth Marketeer, you are responsible for the digital growth and visibility of ActionAid Netherlands. You connect communications, campaigns, and fundraising, working closely with colleagues, partners, and the international ActionAid Federation. You identify opportunities, translate their themes and societal goals into communications that reach, connect, and activate people, and ensure that important stories and societal themes reach the right people at the right time. You ensure that campaigns, programs, and emergency relief efforts receive the visibility and engagement they deserve. In doing so, you increase supporter and donor engagement and contribute directly to the societal impact and sustainable revenue of ActionAid Netherlands.

Together with the Individual Giving fundraiser, you shape and execute donor recruitment and retention, online campaigns, and awareness. You think in terms of goals and impact, and subsequently select the right tools and channels to achieve them. You come up with new ideas, dare to test, and make a significant impact with limited resources by making smart use of digital tools and networks.

From the Netherlands, they focus particularly on a fair energy transition and fair, sustainable raw material supply chains. They influence politics and businesses and engage people in the Netherlands through campaigns on climate justice, raw materials, and corporate responsibility for human rights and the environment. Women’s rights form the common thread in everything they do.

Your role: 

  • You are responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, and reflection of the Feminist Climate Academy, and you oversee the budget. You devise new propositions, formats, and ideas and turn them into tests: you measure, learn, and scale up what works.
  • You work on communication surrounding campaigns, programs, and events, such as the Feminist Climate Academy and the Feminist Climate March: from recruitment and public communication to collaboration with partners and online visibility.
  • You build sustainable engagement among supporters, donors, and ambassadors, both online and offline, and develop ways to actively connect people to the ActionAid movement.
  • You keep their digital assets in order: website, email marketing, marketing automation, and CRM. You use data and target audience insights to make communication more relevant, personal, and better tailored.
  • You ensure visibility in the press (opinion pieces, interviews, reports), collaborate with the director in this regard and, where necessary, with external support, and oversee the annual report process.
  • Together with the fundraiser Individual Giving, you shape and execute the recruitment and retention of donors, online campaigns, and awareness.

You have: 

  • experience with digital marketing, online campaigns, and content creation;
  • experience with CRM, email marketing, marketing automation, and leveraging data for relevant communication;
  • experience with developing and testing digital campaigns and propositions;
  • knowledge of how digital tools can contribute to engagement, growth, and sustainable relationships with various target groups;
  • interest in feminist movements, women’s rights and the broader themes ActionAid works on;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Nice to have (or willing to learn):

  • experience with systems such as Spotler, WordPress, META Suite, and Canva;
  • experience with video production;
  • experience with website management and light development;
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEA, Google Grants, and paid media.

ActionAid offers:

  • Placement in scale 9: a full-time gross monthly salary between €3,214 and €4,545 (based on 36 hours, depending on experience);
  • a year-end bonus of 3.5%, pension contribution and travel allowance;
  • a contribution towards telephone and home working expenses;
  • plenty of room for your own ideas and creativity;
    Flexibility in where and when you work (naturally in consultation).
