Join us for a training on climate litigation and regulation – one of the fastest-moving areas of the legal landscape today. This two-day course gives you a practical, up-to-date understanding of that landscape – from international foundations to European regulation – so you can navigate it with confidence.
In recent years, courts at every level – from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) to national judiciaries – have fundamentally reshaped the legal obligations of governments and businesses on climate change. Civil society is also leveraging the law in many creative ways to hold public and private actors accountable.
Climate litigation cases are growing both in number and success rate. Therefore, understanding the content and application of international and regional climate law is becoming essential across sectors and roles.
In collaboration with SEVEN — the University of Amsterdam’s interdisciplinary climate institute, we offer a short course providing a broad understanding of key areas in international and European climate law.
