Humanity Hub Cafe Host/Barista

Working hours: 6-20 hours per week, available weekdays and some evenings (rarely weekends); flexible working hours based on availability

The Role
The Humanity Hub is looking for energetic, friendly service-minded individuals to join our hospitality team.
As a Café Host, you will work across our members’ café, meeting and event spaces at The Hague Humanity Hub. You will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the café and meeting rooms while supporting our community and delivering excellent service.
As the first point of contact for visitors, you will welcome guests, support the daily logistics of the space, and prepare and serve food and beverages in the café and meeting rooms, helping to create a positive experience for everyone who visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a welcoming host for community members and visitors.
- Provide excellent service in the café and during meetings and events.
- Create a high-quality café experience, including barista coffee preparation, food service, and maintaining a friendly atmosphere.
- Setup and host meeting rooms and support smooth execution of events ( AV/technical setup, room setup, coffee, tea and lunch service).
- Assist members and guests with practical questions (e.g., Wi-Fi, printing, meeting spaces).
- Regular maintenance of shared spaces, including plant care, coffee machines, printers, and café equipment.
- Handling members’ post and managing the key access system including creating and programming keys.
What You Bring
- 1+ years of experience in hospitality
- Strong customer service orientation – you genuinely enjoy helping people!
- Eye for detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling AV
- A positive, proactive, and hands-on attitude
- Good English language skills
- Affinity with the Humanity Hub’s mission and the peace and justice ecosystem in The Hague
- A valid (long term) work permit for the Netherlands
