ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Climate change and biodiversity loss are not only environmental challenges – they are also questions of justice, inequality, and global responsibility. Around the world, their impacts are experienced unevenly, shaped by social, economic, and political power dynamics. Responding to these challenges requires not only environmental solutions, but new ways for people to engage, collaborate, and take action.

Many young people want to contribute meaningfully to climate action but lack clear pathways to get involved. Access to mentorship, cross-sector networks, and practical experience in developing initiatives is often limited, making it difficult to move from concern to sustained engagement.

Ready to Engage was created to bridge this gap. The programme supports young people in deepening their understanding
of climate justice while developing their own ideas for change.
Through guided learning, peer exchange, and hands-on project development, participants will transform early ideas into concrete project proposals and realistic engagement plans.

Ready to Engage: Pathways to Climate Justice is an initiative by The Hague Humanity Hub and is funded by the European Union.
The programme brings together young participants, practitioners, and experts from climate, peace, and justice fields to connect learning with real-world practice.

Hosted at The Hague Humanity Hub, participants engage directly with the city’s peace and justice ecosystem.
They will meet organisations, innovators, and changemakers working on global challenges, gaining exposure, inspiration, and connections that will help position them within a growing climate justice community.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

By the end of the programme, you will have:

  • A justice-informed project proposal ready to move forward
  • Practical tools to develop and test initiatives
  • Guidance from experts and mentors
  • A supportive peer community
  • Connections within The Hague’s peace and justice network
  • Confidence to take your next step as a changemaker
