DESCRIPTION:In light of World Press Freedom Day\, Volt There is hosting a dynamic roundtable event on one of the most pressing challenges facing modern democracies: media freedom in an age of disinformation and foreign influence. \nTitled “Protecting Democracy: Press Freedom\, Disinformation\, and the Fight for Truth\,” this event brings together journalists\, experts\, and policymakers from across Europe to explore what it takes to safeguard independent journalism and ensure citizens remain well-informed. \nThrough three interactive rounds\, participants will: \n\nHear firsthand insights from journalists and experts working on the frontlines in Moldova and Ukraine\nExamine how disinformation and foreign interference operate in practice\nDiscuss how governments\, organisations\, and citizens can strengthen resilience against these threats\nExplore the role of initiatives such as the ECHO programme and MATRA programme in supporting media freedom\nThe session will include a panel discussion and an interactive Q&A\, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with speakers and contribute to the conversation.\n\nThis event is organised in collaboration with the Eduardo Frei Foundation and the International Foundation GroenLinks. \nIf you care about democracy\, truth\, and a free press\, this is a conversation not to miss. \n	Register here!
