SUMMARY:Harvesting Insights\, Planting New Seeds: the closing of the Climate Justice CoP
DESCRIPTION:Over the last 3 years\, the Partos Climate Justice Community of Practice has provided a platform that brings together professionals from a wide range of organisations\, working on programmes that promote climate justice in different ways. We have had inspiring learning sessions on a wide range of topics\, such as climate finance\, nature-based solutions and locally led adaptation. \nThis year\, the Climate Justice CoP will come to an end. Therefore\, we are organising a closing session to look back at what we have learned and plant seeds for future collaboration. Together with the The Hague Humanity Hub\, we are hosting this session as an opportunity to (re)connect with each other\, share challenges and explore possibilities to work together in the future. \nThe session also provides a chance to situate the CoP’s work within the broader community of changemakers connected to The Hague Humanity Hub. At the Hub\, the Climate Justice community is a network of actors working at the intersection of climate\, peace\, and justice. By bringing together diverse voices\, the Hub aims to foster dialogue\, spark collaboration\, and support collective action toward a more just and resilient future. In this context\, the Hub’s Climate Justice community hopes to explore ways in which some of the initiatives developed under the Partos Community of Practice (CoP) can continue to grow and inspire further collaboration. \n  \nWhat to expect\nDuring the session we will look back on the past years and look forward to identify concrete opportunities for collaboration beyond this community in the future. Together we will explore: How can we keep collaborating to put climate justice principles into practice \n  \nThe programme includes:\n\nPresentation of the Climate Justice learning document with the main insights and learning from the past years.\nOpen Space session\, exploring: How can we keep collaborating to put climate justice principles into practice? Through this methodology you will help shape the agenda by bringing forward the topics and ideas that matter most right now. Together\, we’ll explore what issues and challenges still need attention\, and how we can continue to support each other and work together in the future.\nExposition: A glimpse into the future. What does a fair\, just and inclusive climate transition look like—both in the Netherlands and across the globe? And what are the consequences if we fail to make this a priority? Explore our interactive dioramas and discover what lies ahead.\n\n  \nJoin us for this in-person session and bring your best ideas\, questions and challenges! \n  \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:Growing beyond this moment: The closing of the Partos DEI and anti-racism trajectories
DESCRIPTION:Closing a chapter\nOver the past three years Partos has facilitated the DEI trajectory\, a series of powerful sessions centring on reflection\, dialogue\, and action around DEI and anti-racism. Together\, we have explored how exclusion and racism manifest within our organisations\, and how we can take intentional\, collective steps to dismantle them. \n  \nYears after the global outcry for justice and equity (#BLM\, #metoo)\, society shows us that these values are easily broken and under pressure. The DEI trajectory proofs that DEI\, when justice-led and part of a broader strategy\, is still a way to practice commitment to equity in a world where racism\, sexism\, ableism\, discrimination\, xenophobia and trans & homophobia is still imminent. \n  \nClosing Community Event\nAs this shared journey comes to a close\, we’re excited to present the final report\, capturing key learnings\, experiences\, and insights gathered along the way. During the closing event\, we’ll share these outcomes and invite you to look ahead with us\, identifying how we can sustain and deepen this work in the years to come: \n\nMaking sense of the state of DEI beyond 2025\nInteractive workshop that will spark your DEI (resistance) stamina by Elodie Kona\, DEI Expert and co-author of Uncomfortable Conversations & co-editor of the “Inclusion Marathon” and our very own “Partos DEI Handbook”\nLaunch and presentation of the Partos DEI handbook\, a publication capturing all lessons learned\, tips and tools of the DEI Trajectory\, which has been made possible because of all of you!\nPlenty of space for conversation\, inspiration and connection.\nDrinks & food\n\nPlease note\, that we only have 35 places available of which 7 will be for people outside of the trajectory. If two people from the same organisation\, please let us know so we can check for availability. \nWe look forward to seeing you there\, to celebrate what we’ve built together\, and to grow beyond this moment!\n	Register here This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:Communicating with impact: How to bring global citizenship and global issues close and create real engagement for international cooperation
DESCRIPTION:How do you embed global citizenship in your organization\, and how do you create real\, lasting engagement with global issues? How do we bring these topics closer to a wider audience – and how do we also reach young people in the process? During this meeting\, we will share learning experiences and insights on how we as organizations deal with global citizenship. Together\, we are investigating the role of communication in this and how we can give international solidarity more meaning and visibility. A moment to exchange experiences\, gain inspiration and go into depth together. \n  \nWhat can you expect?\nHow do we give global citizenship a meaningful place within our organizations\, at a time when rapid fundraising and marketing strategies often predominate? Is it possible to make room for awareness and involvement\, even if the pressure on short-term results is great? By putting global citizenship more at the heart of our work\, we aim to build broader support and sustainable support for international cooperation. \nBut what does this require of us? Do we need more time\, trust and patience to form real relationships and create lasting engagement on global issues? And how can we engage citizens in an inclusive and meaningful way on topics such as human rights\, democracy\, equality and climate justice? \nIn a previous session\, we already explored a number of insights. This meeting builds on that. Together\, we look for strategies\, inspiration and space to deepen communication and engagement — for more impact\, connection and global citizenship. \n  \nComponents of the meeting\n\nBest Practice | Marcel Catsburg of Woord & Daad discusses how the organization integrates the concept of global citizenship into its policy and how it seeks to connect with its supporters in a communicative way.\nInspirational Talk by creative strategist Ard Lok: What’s the secret of effective communication to engage people in a cause/movement?\nBest Practice | ErnstJan Stroes of Wilde Ganzen explains the steps the organization is taking to give global citizenship a crucial place in its policies and programs.\nExchanging and learning from each other.\n\n  \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab\n	\n  \nPlease note: this event was originally posted in Dutch.

SUMMARY:Democracies under attack: the anti-rights movement and their tactics to influence the public narrative
DESCRIPTION:As part of a series of Brown Bag Sessions on the anti-rights movement\, we present our second Brown Bag Session of 2025\, a short online\, informal learning session. In this brown-bag session\, we will take a deep dive into the global anti-rights movement coordinated attacks against democracy and civic space.  Joined by RNW Media\, CIVICUS\, the University of Gothenburg and the Love Alliance\, we will present why the anti-rights movement is a threat to our democracies\, and give examples of what misinformation and disinformation tactics anti-rights groups are using. We invite you to bring your own lunch and engage! \nAnti-rights groups & dis/misinformation tactics\nCivil society worldwide is under growing pressure from the rising anti-rights movement\, with more outspoken and direct attacks on civic rights\, freedom of expression\, and on democratic values. Actors linked to anti-rights groups are trying to interfere in democratic processes\, and attacking civic freedoms. \nAnti-rights groups continue to win ground by using tactics such as disinformation (spreading deliberately deceiving or misleading information) & intimidation including aggressive litigation to drain resources of civil society organisations\, exploit public funds and influence institutions like the UN and EU to advance regressive agendas. Their tactics\, ranging from spreading false and misleading information to strategic lobbying\, have the potential to polarise public opinion\, erode trust in democratic processes\, and promote extremism. \nWhat to expect?\nIn this brown bag session\, representatives Giovana Fleck (RNW Media)\, Ines Pousadela (CIVICUS) and Post doctoral researcher Haley McEwen (University of Gothenburg) will be interviewed by Aidsfonds on how the anti-rights movement poses a threat to our civic space and democracies. We will explore: \n\nProvide insight into how misinformation and disinformation influence public narratives and are instrumentalised by certain groups.\nWhy it is important to understand the tactics of the anti-rights groups\nHow the anti-rights offense is going beyond attacks on the LGBTIQ+ and women’s rights.\n\nAbout the Partos LNOB Brown Bag sessions\nThis Brown Bag lunch session is the sixth of a series organised by the Partos Leave No One Behind Community of Practice (LNOB) with inspiring presentations on intersectionality and Leave No One Behind in practice. Digest fresh from the shelf\, or yet to be tested\, best practices\, tools\, and approaches that aim to put rights holders in the driving seat and reduce discrimination. \nMissed the first session on the anti-rights movement? Find the summary here. \n	Register Here This link opens in a new tab
