SUMMARY:(Online) Introduction to the Sphere Standards
DESCRIPTION:The Sphere Handbook is the oldest initiative in the field of humanitarian standards and has recently been updated. The Sphere Standards have been field-tested over twenty years\, updates ensure it remains fit for purpose in a changing world. \n\n\n\nKUNO\, the Platform for Humanitarian Knowledge Exchange in The Netherlands\, invites you to an online working session on the Sphere Standards on Tuesday 22 March (09:00-13:00).  \n\n\n\nProgramme\n\n\n\nDuring the online working session participants will get an introduction on fundamentals of the Sphere handbook and how to use it in their work to improve the quality and accountability\, especially towards and with affected people and communities. The trainers are Axel Schmidt and Felicity Fallon.  \n\n\n\nThe online session will be highly interactive\, for this we will use ZOOM. The number of seats available is limited. \n\n\n\nWe kindly request you to register via kuno@kuno-platform.nl  \n\n\n\nMeet the Sphere trainers\n\n\n\nAxel Schmidt \n\n\n\nAxel Schmidt is not too smart and a bit naïve\, because he still believes that a power shifting\, people-centred and inclusive humanitarian approach can make a difference. He often fails but tries his best as ASB’s Emergency Response Coordinator\, RedR Associate Trainer\, Sphere Trainer and Focal Point Germany and ReflACTIONeer.  \n\n\n\nFelicity Fallon \n\n\n\nFelicity joined Sphere in 2021. Prior to joining Sphere\, she worked in education\, tourism and heritage. Her roles have encompassed teaching\, training and business development for the public and private sectors. She is co-founder and chair of Lake Aid\, an association supporting displaced children and families in Annecy (France). Felicity holds an M.A. in Classics and Art History from Cambridge University\, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester and a TEFL Certificate (Teach English as a Foreign Language)

SUMMARY:(Online) Webinar: Gamechangers for people-centred justice
DESCRIPTION:Critical success factors for  justice innovation\n\n\n\nIn 15 years of advancing user-friendly justice\, HiiL has identified categories of game-changing services that reimagine the way justice is delivered. These justice Gamechangers prioritise people’s needs and experiences and provide justice that is affordable\, accessible\, and easy to understand. \n\n\n\nHowever\, what factors and characteristics contribute to justice innovation? How can existing justice services improve their models to increase access to justice? And how can the private and public sectors support innovations that make people-centred justice possible? \n\n\n\nHiiL sought to answer these questions in expert-led working groups in mid-2021. Legal professionals\, innovators\, and academics gathered to share their knowledge\, examine case studies\, and identify the critical success factors of Gamechangers. The working groups focused on three of the seven game-changing categories: Community Justice Services\, User-Friendly Contracts and One Stop Shop Dispute Resolution.  \n\n\n\nOn Wednesday\, 23 March\, we will present the insights and recommendations from the working group sessions during a live webinar event. With this\, we hope to expand knowledge exchange networks and strengthen people-centred justice initiatives committed to realising SDG16.3 – equal access to justice for all. \n\n\n\n“Scaling Gamechangers requires a detailed set of tools\, practices\, case studies\, network of people as well as know-how that can be documented and disseminated across relevant stakeholders.” \n\n\n\n-Kanan Dhru\, Justice Innovation Researcher at HiiL \n\n\n\nMore speakers will be announced soon.
