SUMMARY:The Hague International Organisation & NGO Reception 2019
DESCRIPTION:The city of The Hague warmly invites you to its annual International Organisation & NGO reception. \nThe city is proud to be the home of a vibrant ecosystem that contributes to a better world. The Hague hosts more than 200 international organisations and NGOs\, as well as other impact-driven social enterprises\, innovative start-ups and knowledge institutes. \nWe believe that strengthening connections will increase impact. This year’s reception will highlight the diversity of the Hague community and offer opportunities for new connections. Next to drinks and bites\, there will be short side workshops on the following themes: \n\nData Security and Cyber Protection for NGOs (Karama\, X-Systems\, Justice and Peace\, and Startpage.com)\nHow can SMEs and NGOs collaborate to realize the SDGs? (Oxfam Novib\, Twynstra Gudde\, and ImpactCity)\nDigital Learning Innovations (Centre for Innovation\, Leiden University)\nBusiness Model Transformation for NGOs (InnoPlot and Humanity Hub)\n\nProgramme: \n16:00 Walk-in\n16:30 Welcoming by Deputy Mayor Saskia Bruines and Humanity Hub Managing Director Jill Wilkinson\nfollowed by a workshop\, networking\, and live music. \nWe look forward to welcoming you on January 29 at the Hague Humanity Hub! \nThis event is by invitation only.\nIf you are a Hague-based organisation and have not received your invitation\, please get in touch with us: info@humanityhub.net \n  \n\n\n  \nAbout the workshops \nData Security and Cyber Protection for NGOs (Karama\, X-Systems\, Justice and Peace\, and Startpage.com)\nMembers of NGOs have large amounts of valuable information on their personal devices\, ranging from contact details of members of parliament\, diplomatic staff\, to future policy documents\, lobby documents and so on. However\, it is widely common for NGOs to not be properly protected against cyber attacks\, therefore turning them into the main target of hacks to their systems. The goal of this workshop is to inform the NGOs in The Hague about the possibilities to improve their digital security and to protect their partners abroad. \nHow can SMEs and NGOs collaborate to realize the SDGs? (Oxfam Novib\, Twynstra Gudde\, and ImpactCity)\nHow can small medium enterprises (SME’s) contribute to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals? How can NGO’s and SME’s work together to make (local) impact? Be inspired by the approach of Oxfam Novib and share your vision and ideas! \nDigital Learning Innovations (Centre for Innovation\, Leiden University)\nJoin us to explore the digital trends in knowledge sharing. \nBusiness Model Transformation for NGOs (InnoPlot and Humanity Hub)\nSocial and commercial business models are colliding. Not for profits are becoming more business-like and commercial enterprise is becoming more socially conscious. But are our current business models fit for the future? Do we need to find new ways of matching funding and capital to social impact? Do you think you might need to reinvent your organisation? \n  \n
