SUMMARY:Rule of Law Training
DESCRIPTION:The Matra Rule of Law Training Programme is designed to strengthen institutional capacity in the field of rule of law within government organisations in Albania\, Armenia\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, Georgia\, Kosovo\, Moldova\, Montenegro\, North Macedonia\, Serbia\, Türkiye\, and Ukraine. Each year we offer (hybrid) training courses\, providing participants with insights into best practices across a wide range of rule of law topics. \n\n\n\nThrough interactive sessions that blend theory with practical skills\, as well as study visits\, our programme equips policy advisors\, members of the judiciary and other civil servants working in the government and justice sectors with the knowledge and skills needed to drive reforms within their respective countries. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, by taking part in the training programme\, participants become part of a large international network of alumni\, lecturers and public institutions in the Netherlands and in the target countries. This network serves as a platform for learning\, exchange and collaboration. \n\n\n\nThe Matra Rule of Law Training Programme is designed and delivered by the Netherlands Helsinki Committee\, Leiden Law School and The Hague Academy for Local Governance. It is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands\, and administered by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) on behalf of the Ministry. For questions relating to the Matra Rule of Law Training Programme please contact us via matrarolt@nhc.nl \n\n\n\nThe following hybrid training courses are on offer in 2024-2025: \n\n\n\nIn 2024-2025 the following hybrid training courses are offered: \n\n\n\n1. Administration of Justice (full brochure) \n\n\n\nThis training will focus on the “judicial” dimension of Chapter 23. The training will focus on the fundamental principles of judicial organisation under the EU acquis – with a special focus on the case law of the EU Court of Justice – and groundbreaking case law of the European Court of Human Rights. Participants will also learn about best practices in the administration of justice in the Netherlands\, and the organisation and functioning of the judiciary. Participants will be introduced to the concept of independence and impartiality as developed in the robust case law of the European Court of Human Rights. Participants will discuss the legal framework regarding the principles of accountability and independence and the application of these principles; judicial culture as a backdrop against which courts function; the role of judicial councils and the role of precedent in legal practice. \n\n\n\nThis training will be held online from 02 to 13 December 2024 and will be held in-person from 20-31 January 2025. Applications are now closed. \n\n\n\n2. Integrity of Civil Servants (full brochure) \n\n\n\nPublic integrity is a core value of the European vision on good governance. It is essential for a well-functioning and transparent government\, and an important precondition for economic growth. This training will help participants developing integrity policies\, in order to ensure transparency\, accountability\, efficiency and ethical behaviour within government institutions. \n\n\n\nThis training will focus on three pillars of public integrity as defined by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD): system\, culture and accountability. Participants will discuss international and European standards\, while also learning about examples and practices from the Netherlands. How are integrity policies designed\, implemented and enforced? \n\n\n\nThis training will be held online from 27 January – 07 February 2025 and will be held in-person from 10 – 21 March 2025. \n\n\n\n3. Public Procurement (full brochure) \n\n\n\nThe acquis on public procurement includes general principles of transparency\, free movement of goods\, and non-discrimination. In addition\, specific EU rules apply for the coordination of awarding public works contracts\, services and supplies. Government contracts are of great economic and strategic importance and it is therefore necessary that systems are designed in such a way that conflicts of interest and corruption are prevented as much as possible. \n\n\n\nWith this training\, we want to increase knowledge of European regulations in the field of public procurement by looking at Dutch and international experience with regard to legitimacy and integrity of the purchasing process. Strong\, independent institutions protect the integrity of the system. This prevents inappropriate political or economic influence. This training also pays attention to gender responsive and transformative public procurement\, showing casing how public procurement can contribute to increasing gender equality. \n\n\n\nThis training will be held online from 27 January – 07 February 2025 and will be held in-person from 10 – 21 March 2025. \n\n\n\n4. Management of Public Services (full brochure) \n\n\n\nThis training addresses the question of how the public sector can be better organised to enable good public services. We look at the public sector from the perspective of multi-level governance: cooperation and coordination between multiple layers of government\, non-government actors and citizens for effective and efficient public services. Challenges surrounding decentralisation and privatisation (including public-private partnerships) are discussed\, including the financing of services. We also discuss the potential of digitalisation to make services more efficient\, transparent and accessible\, as well as accompanying challenges – for example regarding privacy\, data security and the digital divide. We discuss the importance of good personnel policy for well-functioning public institutions and services. We look at issues such as merit-based selection and promotion\, transparent performance assessments and offering training and development opportunities to government officials. \n\n\n\nThis training will be held online from 12 to 23 May 2025\, and in-person from 09 to 20 June 2025. Click here to apply. \n\n\n\n5. Management of Borders (full brochure) \n\n\n\nAll Matra countries share common challenges when it comes to migration\, asylum\, border management and organised transnational crime. The Western Balkans and Turkey are located on the crossroads of migration routes from conflict areas to EU member states\, while Armenia\, Georgia\, Moldova and Ukraine share common challenges in the field of border management and adjusting national legislation in order to meet the EU acquis. \n\n\n\nIn this training\, participants will strengthen their knowledge of EU asylum law and its interpretation by European courts. Sessions will be dedicated to the EU acquis\, including the EU return and readmission policy. In the field of border management\, participants will learn about Schengen legislation and the mandate of Frontex\, whiles sessions will also be held on the fight against organised crime. \n\n\n\nThe training will be held online from 12 to 23 May 2025 and in-person from 09 to 20 June 2025. Click here to apply. \n\n\n\n6. Human Rights \n\n\n\nDepending on the selected participants\, this training can be used in a number of ways to address fundamental and human rights. All government policy initiatives must be monitored for their impact on (human) rights and there must be mechanisms for monitoring and correcting practices that conflict with these rights. This training looks at mechanisms and policies that can be used to (better) safeguard internationally agreed human rights standards. Together with Dutch institutions active in this area\, we will exchange practical experiences with the participants and encourage them to reflect on the situation in their own country. \n\n\n\nThis training will be held online from 15 to 26 September 2025\, and in-person from 6 to 17 October 2025. \n\n\n\n7. (Functioning of) Democratic Institutions \n\n\n\nWell-functioning institutions that guarantee democracy\, the rule of law and human rights are essential for preserving the EU’s identity and values. They must guarantee and safeguard fundamental rights and freedoms. In this training we not only look at international standards (the role of the Venice Commission and the Council of Europe)\, but also at practice: how can civil servants themselves contribute to democratic policy and decision-making and increasing confidence in the government? How can organisations work more transparently? And how can the distance between the government and the citizen be reduced? \n\n\n\nThis training will be held online from 10 to 21 November 2025\, and in-person from 01 to 12 December 2025. \n\n\n\nThese training was held in 2023-2024: \n\n\n\nJudicial Cooperation \n\n\n\nIn this training we look at the importance of collaboration within the justice sector\, both at a national and international level. We will tailor the programme specifically based on the sectors in which the selected participants work. For example\, we look at the ways in which international cooperation between judges works (recognition of foreign judgments\, transfer of suspects). Regarding the enforcement of sentences\, we look at chain cooperation\, in which the fundamental values and standards of the EU are central. For example\, within criminal law\, the right balance must be found between punishment\, reintegration and the protection of victims and society. When it comes to punishment\, we will highlight the value of alternative sanctions to prison sentences. Within this training we pay special attention to cooperation between civil servants and civil society\, because Dutch chain cooperation within criminal law between government parties and civil society is highly developed and is often a revelation for experts from other countries. \n\n\n\nThis training was held online from 11 to 22 November 2024\, and in-person from 1 to 14 December 2024. \n	Register Here This link opens in a new tab\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Realizing the right to food for lasting stability
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nJoin us as we discuss how to ensure everyone has access to food\, and how to fund these efforts! \nRealizing the right to food for lasting stability: Scaling and financing effective justice solutions \nFAO and IDLO invite you to join a hybrid dialogue engaging stakeholders in the rule of law and right to food communities\, intended to explore practical opportunities to strengthen stability and peaceful societies by realizing the right to adequate food through people-centred justice. The proposed dialogue event will explore the enabling role of access to justice in fostering the realization of the right to food\, including by enhancing the capacity of rights-holders to claim their right to food\, and of formal and informal justice actors to address such claims effectively; and the ways in which securing the right to food contributes to trust\, security\, stability\, and cohesion. With this event\, FAO and IDLO hope to contribute to joint learning and collective action that promotes people-centred justice as a means of ensuring no one is left behind in realizing the right to adequate food\, and improving the resilience\, stability\, and development of food insecurity-affected societies. \nList of speakers to be updated in the coming weeks. \nFor more information\, please contact aquintana@idlo.int. \n  \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:Peace Finance Workshop 1 - From Principles to Practice
DESCRIPTION:About this session\nThis two-hour workshop takes forward the Humanity Hub’s Investing in Peace initiative by introducing the principles and practice of Peace Finance – exploring how finance\, innovation\, and collaboration can actively strengthen peace and resilience. \n  \nPeace Finance starts from a simple idea: every financial or organisational decision affects trust\, inclusion\, and stability. While some organisations work in fragile or conflict-affected settings\, others focus on inequality\, governance\, human rights\, or social innovation – all of which influence how societies sustain stability and inclusion. Peace-positive investments put this principle into practice: they seek not only financial or developmental returns but also measurable contributions to cooperation\, legitimacy\, and resilience in the communities they touch. \n  \nThrough short examples and guided discussion\, participants will explore how these ideas can translate into practical approaches for reducing risk\, strengthening legitimacy\, and unlocking new forms of partnership. \n\nLed by practitioners: Hear directly from professionals applying Peace Finance in practice – from fund design and social enterprise to governance and impact innovation.\nInteractive and applied: Work through real examples\, group discussions\, and short design challenges that turn abstract concepts into concrete tools.\nA first step in a series: This workshop marks the beginning of a broader learning journey on Peace Finance\, with future sessions offering opportunities for deeper exchange\, co-creation\, and practice.\n\n  \nWhy this workshop\nPeace Finance provides a way to connect financial and development choices with the conditions that make societies more stable\, inclusive\, and resilient. As the boundaries between finance\, innovation\, and peacebuilding continue to blur\, organisations in every sector face new opportunities – and responsibilities – to align their decisions with peace-positive outcomes. \nThis workshop offers an accessible starting point to that conversation\, inviting participants from across civil society\, policy\, innovation\, and finance to explore together how their work can contribute to long-term stability and shared prosperity. \n  \nWho is this workshop for?\n\nCivil-society organisations\, NGOs & INGOs – strengthening inclusion\, accountability\, and social impact through collaborative\, locally grounded approaches.\nInnovators & PeaceTech professionals – exploring how digital tools\, data\, and new business models can enhance transparency\, participation\, and trust.\nPeacebuilding & development practitioners – linking programmatic work to investment opportunities that build resilience and reduce fragility.\nPolicy & governance advisers – integrating peace considerations into national\, local\, or corporate decision-making frameworks.\nImpact & finance actors – from donors and DFIs to ESG investors\, looking for strategies that de-risk operations and connect capital flows with long-term stability.\n\n  \n	Register your attendance online This link opens in a new tab\n Register your attendance in-person This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:[Movies that Matter film screening] Theatre of Violence
DESCRIPTION:The Asser Institute and Movies that Matter invite you to a special screening of the powerful documentary\, ‘Theatre of Violence’ that takes place in The Hague on Tuesday\, 9 December 2025. \n  \nThe film follows the landmark trial of Dominic Ongwen\, a former commander in Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA)\, at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. Ongwen is accused of horrific war crimes and crimes against humanity. But there’s a profound complication: Ongwen himself was abducted by the LRA at just nine years old\, brutalised\, brainwashed\, and forced to kill. \nThis haunting story raises questions that go to the very heart of international justice: \n\nHow does the legal system define criminal responsibility in such a complex case?\nWhen does a victim become a perpetrator? And can they be both?\nDoes the ICC’s verdict\, delivered in The Hague\, clash with the needs of local communities in Uganda seeking to heal from trauma?\nThis film is a vital look at the collision between international justice and local realities.\n\n  \nFollowing the screening\, we will host an expert panel discussion to delve into the complex issues raised by the film. \n  \nThe discussion will explore the phenomenon of child soldiers\, the role of spiritual beliefs and cultural concepts of spirituality in the Ongwen case\, as well as the victims’ perspectives on the crimes for which Dominic Ongwen was convicted. This conversation aims to deepen understanding of how trauma\, belief\, and justice intersect — and to examine how international law can respond to the realities of those most affected by conflict. \n  \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab\n \n  \nInformation of the panel line up will follow soon.

SUMMARY:Duurzaam Ontbijt (Sustainable Breakfast)
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Hague is a city made up of diverse communities\, each with its own characteristics and ambitions. At the same time\, the city faces the urgent challenge of preparing for ongoing climate change while minimizing its own contribution to global warming. In 2024\, more than 100 organisations\, companies\, and resident groups\, together with the municipality\, signed the The Hague Climate Agreement as a contribution to this effort. \nThe shared ambition is to create a climate-neutral and socially resilient city. Achieving this is only possible if as many communities as possible commit to realising this ambition in a fair and just way. The key question is: how can we grow a strong “community of communities” in The Hague that is capable of accelerating the transformation toward a climate-just city in the coming years? \nThis question will be at the heart of the Sustainable Breakfast on Wednesday\, 10 December 2025\, coinciding with Human Rights Day. Together\, we will explore answers and opportunities. SUMMARY:Future of Democracy: Resilience Against Ethno-Nationalism Digital Threats
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an urgent conversation on the future of democracy as ethno-nationalism and digital threats increasingly erode civic space\, fuel polarization\, and deepen existing inequalities. Around the world\, far-right narratives and rapidly evolving technologies are accelerating conflict dynamics and weakening democratic institutions. On this event we are raising critical questions about how civil society can protect rights\, uphold pluralism\, and rebuild public trust. \n  \nThis Human Rights Day panel brings together leading experts working at the intersection of democracy\, digital governance\, and peacebuilding. Together\, we will explore how civil society\, human rights defenders\, and regulators are responding to these mounting pressures\, and what collective strategies can strengthen resilience and safeguard democratic participation. \n  \nDrawing on experiences from India\, West Africa\, the Sahel\, and other fragile contexts\, the discussion will examine both the scale of democratic backsliding and digital harms\, as well as the emerging opportunities for accountability\, community organising\, and rights-based digital governance. \n  \nFollowing the panel\, participants are invited to join an open Q&A and an informal reception — a space to connect\, exchange perspectives\, and engage directly with the speakers. \n  \nSpeakers:\n\nProf. Dr. Rahul Mukherji — Chair in Modern Politics of South Asia\, Heidelberg University\nLena Slachmuijlder — Senior Advisor on Digital Peacebuilding\, Search for Common Ground\nModerator: Ulviya Hasanova — Senior Advocacy Officer\, DAHRD\nDate & Time: 10 December 2025 15:00 – 17:00\nLocation:  Silversquare Square de Meeûs 35 1000 Brussels\n\n  \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:Mapping Water and Waste from Satellites
DESCRIPTION:About Event\nIn many of the world’s most vulnerable areas\, reliable data on where people access clean water or how waste is managed is simply missing. This data gap makes it incredibly difficult for organisations to plan and deliver effective aid. \nBut what if we could use satellite imagery to fill this data gap? \nKickstartAI is proud to partner with Team 510 of The Netherlands Red Cross for a hands-on mini-hackathon focused on this very challenge. We’re bringing together creative minds to explore how freely available satellite imagery can be used to support humanitarian action. \n  \nIs this for you?\nThis mini hackathon is designed for problem-solvers from diverse backgrounds. We believe the best ideas come from collaboration\, and we strongly encourage you to join if you are a: \n\nData scientist or machine-learning engineer interested in applying your skills to satellite imagery and humanitarian challenges.\nGIS or Remote Sensing Specialist who understands geospatial data and its applications.\nHumanitarian and environmental professionals who can provide crucial real-world context and insights.\n\n  \nWhat’s on the agenda?\nThis hackathon invites participants to explore how satellite images could help: \n\nLocate and monitor water points (wells\, tanks\, or taps) to support WASH planning.\nIdentify signs of poor waste management or pollution — such as reflective plastics or dumpsites visible on bare ground.\n\n  \nIn mixed teams\, participants will brainstorm and assess how feasible these ideas are — what data exists\, what patterns could be visible from space\, what tools or methods might help\, and how such insights could support humanitarian or environmental action. \nTeams will produce a short concept summary outlining their approach and findings for The Red Cross. \nBy joining\, you’ll gain exposure to satellite data interpretation and humanitarian data challenges\, while learning how data science and geospatial tools can make a tangible social impact. \nJoin us for a day of inspiring collaboration and use your skills to make a real impact. \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:AI guidelines in communication practice
DESCRIPTION:This event was originally posted in Dutch.\n  \nPartos is organising an interactive session on the ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI) in communications practice. AI offers enormous opportunities\, but also brings challenges and responsibilities. During this session\, we will discuss considerations surrounding AI and potential guidelines and best practices to help communications professionals deploy AI safely\, ethically\, and effectively. \n  \nKeynote Lysanne van de Kamp: 15 considerations for a much-needed conversation about AI use\nAI tools like ChatGPT and image generators seem to have become indispensable in a short time. They offer convenience\, speed\, and creativity at our fingertips. But behind this technological leap lie questions that are much larger than we often realize. In an article\, Lysanne van de Kamp lays out 15 key considerations that invite us to look beyond the benefits alone. \nShe writes about the growing power of Big Tech\, the pressure on democracy and truth\, and the socially unjust conditions in which many AI systems are built. She also addresses the enormous impact on energy\, water use\, and our planet. Furthermore\, she raises questions about the impact of AI on our creativity\, skills\, and mental space—and how this technology is increasingly accelerating our lives. \nFrom ethical dilemmas to spiritual and social reflections: let’s open the conversation together that we as a society urgently need to have. Not out of technophobia\, but out of concern for each other\, for the earth\, and for our future. \n  \nWhat can you expect?\n\nLysanne’s Talk : Ethical Considerations & Practical Tools for Responsible Use of AI in Communication.\nPractical examples and tips from colleagues in the sector. Pum shares their experiences developing policy on AI use.\nSpace to ask questions and share experiences.\nThinking along about ingredients for Partos guidelines.\nThis session is intended for communication professionals in development cooperation who want to use AI in a reliable and ethical way.\n\nRegister and join the conversation about the future of AI communication. \n	Register here! DESCRIPTION:Just Peace Movie Night: Guarding Gaia\nJoin us for a thought-provoking evening organised by Human Rights in The Picture\, Lawyers for Lawyers and The Hague Humanity Hub\, part of the Just Peace Movie Nights series. \n  \nOn 28 January\, we screen the documentary Guarding Gaia\, which exposes the risk that environmental lawyers face in their everyday work. SUMMARY:Blue Drinks x Climate Justice Community
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us on January 29 for the first 2026 edition of Blue Drinks at The Hague Humanity Hub\nFor our first gathering of 2026\, the Climate Justice Community Drinks is teaming up with Blue Drinks at the Hub to bridge the gap between climate action and water justice. \nLast year\, many of us sat together to reflect on the hurdles we faced and the lessons we learned. Now\, we are shifting our focus forward. We want to hear about your aspirations\, your big plans\, and your hopes for the months ahead. \nWater is often missing within climate conversations and that is why this collaboration is so important. While it’s frequently buried in technical reports or sector-specific silos\, we know that water justice is a deeply social and political issue. It’s about access\, equality\, and resilience\, and it touches every single one of us regardless of our discipline. \nThe evening will be a relaxed space to connect\, hear from a few experts in the field\, share reflections on why water justice matters more than ever\, and trade goals for the coming year. Whether you’re a regular at the Hub or joining us for the first time\, come as you are and help us kick off the year with some collective momentum. \nBlue Drinks is an informal networking series bringing together professionals across the climate and environmental sectors to connect and collaborate. \n	Register here This link opens in a new tab

SUMMARY:AI and the Planet: Can Democracy Survive AI?
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second event in our AI and the Planet series as we discuss AI’s influence on modern politics.\n  \nThe 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal exposed the vulnerability of our democratic processes in the digital age. As AI algorithms increasingly dictate the flow of information online\, fuelling outrage and division\, the capacity for AI to influence political discourse has grown on an unprecedented scale. With the introduction of generative AI and its capacity to produce hyper-realistic deepfakes and synthetic media\, this risk has only accelerated. \n  \nIn this event\, we discuss AI’s influence on modern politics with Claudia Chwalisz\, Founder and CEO of DemocracyNext\, and AI ethicist and action philosopher\, Nathan (Nate) Kinch FRSA. Join us as we explore whether we can use AI to enhance democratic principles rather than erode them. \n  \nAbout the series:\nAI and the Planet is a webinar series hosted by the RSA’s Oceania network and AI ethicist\, Nathan (Nate) Kinch FRSA\, and supported by the RSA Sustainability Network. Each event features a discussion with a leading scholar whose work deepens and expands our understanding of the current AI moment – the risks\, challenges and potential. Together\, we will explore the rapidly evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence and the world it is reshaping. \n  \nFor questions about this series\, please contact RSA Global Manager (Oceania and Asia)\, Philipa Duthie on philipa.duthie@thersa.org. \n  \n	Register here! SUMMARY:The Politics of Dry Feet: The political economy of flood risk management in Indonesia
DESCRIPTION:Floods represent one of the most persistent and damaging disasters in Indonesia\, a nation highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. \nDespite significant investments in flood management infrastructure\, several Indonesian cities continue to grapple with flooding issues\, while others have effectively reduced their risks. In Politics of Dry Feet\, Dr Yogi Permana explores the reasons behind these disparities. \nBased on extensive field research\, Permana argues that local political economies – not merely technical capabilities – are key to understanding divergent outcomes. By examining four cities\, he shows how collusion between political and business interests undermines spatial planning\, flood defence and emergency response\, while alliances between reform-minded leaders and civil society foster more resilient outcomes. \nBridging anthropology\, political science and urban political ecology\, Permana offers a political economy perspective on flood risk management that is relevant to scholars\, practitioners and policymakers alike\, both within and beyond Indonesia. \nThe talk will be followed by a ‘reflection’ by Professor Lisa SchipperOpens external (University of Bonn\, Germany) who will broaden out the discussion around Disaster Risk Reduction\, and the everyday politics of vulnerability. \n	Register here

SUMMARY:Community Drinks: Peace & Justice Beyond the Bubble
DESCRIPTION:What if your next game-changing connection is just a drink away?\nJoin us for Community Drinks to wind down around a glass\, make new connections\, and get inspired by the spotlights of the evening. Hosted at The Hague Humanity Hub\, this is the place for you to get away from your busy schedule and enjoy after-hours with purposeful conversations. \n  \nWhat can you expect?\nCome to the Hub on Tuesday\, February 17th\, between 17:00 and 19:00\, for a drink (or two) and meet professionals working on making peace and justice more accessible for everyone. \n  \nThe Hague is both the International City of Peace & Justice and a city where neighbourhoods can be socio-economically and culturally divided. While hundreds of institutions work on peace\, justice\, human rights\, and security\, the field can often feel closed-off\, technical\, elite\, or geographically distant from the lived realities of many residents. \nThis edition of Community Drinks takes place right before the municipal elections\, making it a timely moment to reflect on who feels included in the city’s peace and justice ecosystem\, and who does not. \nWho are the speakers?\n\nNetwerk Haagse Helpers\n\nThe Haagse Helpers is a community of volunteers who are building a socially connected city. Young people help fellow citizens\, inspire each other\, and flourish themselves. The Haagse Helpers pay attention to raising awareness among young people to contribute in and to the city. In addition to doing volunteer work\, we have fixed monthly activities\, and we also offer workshops and training to volunteers to strengthen the community’s feelings even more. \n\nLeiden University\n\nLeiden University’s Campus The Hague is the home to teaching and research focused on international law\, governance\, urban issues\, global affairs\, and health—the series brings together academics\, students\, practitioners\, and citizens to explore inclusive approaches to building peaceful societies. Leiden University will be represented by Maja Vodopivec\, Senior University Lecturer at Leiden University College. Drawing on her background in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina\, her PhD research in Tokyo\, and her teaching in peace and conflict studies\, Maja co-founded Fireside Peace Chats to counter increasing securitization in academic discourse and reconnect discussions of peace with lived realities in the world’s capital of peace and justice. \nWho is it for?\nIf you are interested in connecting with people and their work towards a more peaceful\, just and sustainable world\, this event is for you. Whatever your role or sector\, join Community Drinks to relax\, exchange perspectives\, and connect with this vibrant community committed to making the world more peaceful\, just and sustainable\, one conversation at a time. \nMore information about the speakers to be shared shortly. \n	Register here!
